Mary L. McCord, Senior Minister
Mary L. McCord is
currently our senior minister, having accepted the position in October of
2005. Mary had formerly served the Sikeston church as youth minister from
1995 until May of 2004. After resigning from that position, she answered a
call from First Christian Church in Newport, Arkansas to be their senior
minister, where she served until June of 2005.
Mary obtained a
Bachelor of Science (Interdisciplinary Studies) degree with emphases in
Psychology, Philosophy and Religion from Southeast Missouri State University
in Cape Girardeau, MO and her Master of Divinity degree from Memphis
Theological Seminary in 2005, where she graduated summa cum laude. She was
ordained by the Mid-America Region of the Disciples of Christ in 2006.
She and husband Bob have been
married for 35 years and are the parents of Kimberly (husband Erik Liefrinck)
and Elizabeth.

Ed Pangburn, Minister to Seniors
Ed is a native of Montana, graduating from
the University of Montana with an Elementary Education Degree. He taught
school in Missoula for four years before moving to Minnesota to get his
degree in ministry. He has served churches in Minnesota, Montana, Arkansas,
Texas, Colorado, Idaho, Missouri, and Kansas. He received his Master of
Ministry degree from Northwest Nazarene in Idaho.

Sharron Lathum, Minister of Music
Sharron Lathum is a musician who has pursued a dual career for the past
four decades. She studied piano for 17 years and was recruited to play for
a local congregation at age 12. She later studied piano with Dr. John
Dumas and Mrs. Mary Kern, and was privately coached by Dr. John Shelton,
Columbia University, New York, NY and Dr. Betty Goodwin, Cincinnati
Conservatory of Music, Cincinnati, OH. She is widely known in the
Southeast Missouri area for her music contribution to the community in the
sacred and secular field. She served as organist for First Christian
Church in Sikeston for 18 years; 2 years as worship leader at Fellowship
Baptist Church, Sikeston and returned to First Christian as Minister of
Music 2-1/2 years ago.
